Giving something back

Giving something back is at the heart of what we do at Audit Scotland. Whether it’s working to make a difference to public services through our audit work or fundraising thousands of pounds for charity, we understand the value of helping others.

In 2018, our colleagues voted to support SAMH (The Scottish Association for Mental Health) as our corporate charity for the next two years. This follows an amazing two years during which colleagues raised more than £14,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity. And alongside our work for our corporate charity, lots of colleagues volunteer and fundraise for good causes in their spare time.

This page will host updates about our work with SAMH and any other fundraising activity that staff are taking part in to give something back to our communities and vital support services in Scotland and beyond.

Working with SAMH

SAMH logo

SAMH is Scotland's largest mental health charity, and has represented the voice of people affected by mental health problems in Scotland for more than 90 years.

Every year, SAMH provides over a million hours of support to people living with poor mental health. Work they are involved in includes community based services, national programmes and policy and campaigning work.

We launched our first fundraising event for SAMH in January by having a raffle draw which raised £250. The SAMH team were on hand at our staff conference to pick the winning tickets and to provide more information about what they do.

Our previous work with The Brain Tumour Charity

We've had a busy programme of fundraising events since 2017 that included taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay, working with local schoolchildren and volunteering at the charity’s Big Brain Benefit.
