The Audit Scotland annual report sets out our progress under each of our
five corporate priorities:
- Deliver more streamlined audit in partnership with other scrutiny
bodies - Maximise our contribution to the improvement of public services.
- Increase the impact of our work.
- Become a centre of excellence for public audit.
- Improve the transparency of our costs and governance
arrangements.
During 2009/10, on behalf of the Auditor General and the Accounts
Commission, Audit Scotland was responsible for the audit of 215 public
bodies, with a total spend of over £36 billion a year. We also made significant
progress in delivering an audit regime that is valued by audited bodies,
stakeholders and service users.
The reports reflect the various achievements of both bodies over the year
as well as summarising the body of work Audit Scotland produced in
2009/10.
The audited accounts of Audit Scotland are also available here on our
