The study finds that the £44 million rent arrears bill in Scotland could be reduced by as much as £8 million if councils and Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) adopted better management practices to prevent and recover rent arrears. Councils could reduce their arrears from £37 to £31million and RSLs from around £7 million to £5million.
